| Trevor Harris, professor, architect SAFA RIBA and Hennu Kjisik, architect SAFA founded Harris-Kjisik Architects and Planners in 1985. Since then the office has won over thirty prizes and awards in national and international architectural and urban planning competitions. Their work has been widely published in professional journals and appeared in major exhibitions, including the Biennale in Venice in 2004 and 2006. The firm’s expertise focuses mainly on urban spatial regeneration and strategic planning, development cooperation and the design of public buildings. The practice and its partners have had professional and academic involvement in more than 30 countries. Both partners are actively involved in teaching activities as well as in research both at home and abroad. They have been members of numerous competition juries and give regular lectures around the world. The core group at the office consists of about a dozen people but the office has an extensive working network of associated practices, from other architects, landscape architects, interior designers to structural and mechanical engineers, logistics and traffic specialists, as well as commercial experts. The office is able to offer an architect-led comprehensive and effective complete design team to handle projects of any scale and complexity. |
