Trev Harris first came to Finland in the early 1970‘s as an architectural assistant in Turku. After graduating from Hull School of Architecture he worked as project architect for Ralph Erskine on the internationally reknown Byker Redevelopment (now a listed monument) in Newcastle upon Tyne before returning to Finland in 1980. After working for several prominent Finnish architectural practices he established an office with Hennu Kjisik in 1985.

Mr Harris has taught in Britain and Finland and is frequently asked to give lectures and act as visiting critic at universities in Finland and abroad. In 1999 he was appointed Professor of Town Planning and Urban Design at Helsinki University of Technology and in 2009 was appointed as Deputy Director of the School of Architecture. As well as regular guest lectures, media appearances and contributions to magazines, Trev Harris has served as judge in many national and international competitions.

He has worked professionally in Finland, Sweden, the UK, France, Estonia, Latvia, Greece, Egypt, Iraq, Palestine and Sri Lanka. He has furthermore made extensive study tours in Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Harris received the annual Finnish State Award for Art & Architecture in 1995 and in 2008 was conferred with the title of Knight First Class of the Order  of the White Rose of Finland for his contribution to architectural and educational development in Finland.
